Idrottsklubben Academia, or IKA is a sports club at Åbo Akademi, a multi-faculty university in Turku, Finland. Established in 1937, the club has a long history of creating athletic opportunities for university students. The assignment was originally to redesign the existing logo of the IKA floorball team, but whilst the project progressed it became clear that the final logo could easily be applied to the whole organization. The vision was simply to create a logo that captures the essence of almost all competitive sports – speed. All of the letters were drawn with a slight tilt to encapsulate the energetic feeling of motion.
